This page provides a high-level overview of how Hana approaches authentication, access control, data handling, and infrastructure security.
Hana uses Google OAuth to authenticate users and connect supported Google Workspace services. Access is scoped to the permissions required for Hana features, and workspace access is governed by organization-level controls.
For organization workflows, Hana supports role-based controls and admin-managed settings, including memory-related controls available through the dashboard.
Hana processes workspace content to provide retrieval, drafting, summaries, and other assistant capabilities. Depending on enabled features, this may include chat history, uploaded documents, connected Drive content, website memory sources, and related metadata.
Persistent product data is not stored on the local filesystem. Hana is designed for cloud deployment, and persistent application state is stored in managed data systems rather than on individual servers.
Hana is designed to use encrypted transport for network communication and protected handling of connected account tokens. Sensitive credentials and tokens should not be stored in plaintext, and token handling is managed through server-side flows.
Hana includes organization memory features that allow teams to ingest knowledge and retrieve relevant context in Google Chat. Memory batches can be reviewed and managed from the Hana dashboard, including status visibility and deletion controls where supported.
Hana runs as a cloud-hosted service with server-side processing, background jobs, and integration pipelines. The service is built to avoid relying on local disk for persistent state so that workloads can operate safely across multiple instances.
Hana offers a Business Associate Agreement page for customers that need additional information about HIPAA-aligned contractual terms. If your organization has compliance or procurement requirements, contact us before deployment so we can discuss fit, scope, and any additional documentation that may be required.
If you believe you have found a security issue in Hana, please report it responsibly and include enough detail for our team to reproduce and investigate the issue.
